With over 20 years at Farmers®, John has led a wide range of roles spanning Claims, Advanced Analytics, and Enterprise Strategy. He’s led teams that handle catastrophe response, quality assurance, special investigations, medical services, and analytics. In recent years, he’s helped shape the organization’s use of technology and automation. Today, John’s focus is on creating strategies that connect different parts of Farmers to drive enterprise-wide progress.
Throughout his tenure, John has made impactful contributions that strengthened operations and enhanced customer experience. He played an important role in developing the first national set of Claims handling guidelines, standardizing processes and elevating service delivery. He also helped pilot and establish the National Property Theft Claims Representative position, which is a role that has since become a cornerstone within Property Claims. John’s efforts also helped formalize customer experience expectations within the Property Claims process, ensuring a consistent and enhanced experience for Farmers customers. Beyond these achievements, John’s support of military veteran employees helped pave the way for the creation of the Veterans and Advocates Employee Resource Group (ERG).
John’s dedication and commitment to leadership extends beyond his core responsibilities. He served as National Lead for the Veterans and Advocates ERG, where the group expanded their engagement and improved enterprise-wide visibility, and was a development lead for the Women’s Inclusion Network (WIN) mentoring program. He also co-led the Employee Engagement Difference Maker team, a cross-functional group that focused on improving how employees connect and communicate across the enterprise. In the broader community, he volunteers with organizations like the American Red Cross with regular blood donations and Operation BBQ Relief to support veterans and people in need.
His dedication has earned him numerous accolades, including being a seven-time recipient of the Claims Challenge Coin, receiving the Claims Leadership Award for mentoring others, and Community Leader Award for his dedication to multiple non-profits and volunteering within the broader community. He was also named Catastrophe Claims Leader of the Year for improving quality, experience, and culture within the Catastrophe Response Team. Each of these recognitions have meant a great deal to John, not just as personal milestones, but as affirmations of the values he strives to uphold; service, innovation, inclusion, and community. They remind him that leadership is about lifting others, solving meaningful problems, and leaving things better than you found them.
John is service-oriented and working at Farmers gives him the opportunity to continue to help others, build meaningful relationships and make a real impact. His time in Catastrophe Claims taught him the importance of putting customers first, and Farmers continues to empower John to both serve customers and support team members.
