Farmers Insurance® aims to provide a supportive environment that encourages employees to pursue their unique career paths. Brittany Bargen’s journey is a great example. While at Farmers®, Brittany achieved both academic and professional growth, ultimately paving the way for her to move into a leadership role.
While completing grad school, Brittany started at Farmers as an Auto Claims Representative, where she learned important skills like time management, professionalism, negotiation, and how to influence through facts. After earning her master’s degree, Brittany stayed at Farmers knowing that she wanted to continue her career growth and move into a training role with the organization. To hone her skills and prepare for the next step in her career, Brittany engaged with a mentor at Farmers and helped her identify opportunities to develop her presentation and coaching skills. When a training position opened in 2014, she was ready. Brittany relocated to Michigan to support the expansion of Auto Claims in the East Zone. In that role, she developed her business acumen, leadership and consulting skills, and then eventually moved into instructional design where she learned to translate goals into measurable behaviors and advocate for both learners and the business.
Brittany’s prior positions and her mentorship support have prepared her for success in her current leadership role, as Director of Tech and Learning Experience. She has evolved from managing time to managing priorities, from coaching individuals to driving team accountability, and from clear communication to delivering insights that inspire action.
Over the years, Brittany has grown as a leader, and in 2025, she received the Transformational People Leader award for her focus on continuous improvement, talent development, and operational excellence.
For Brittany, the people are what makes Farmers so special and are a huge part of why she made the decision to build her career at Farmers many years ago. Her journey highlights how the culture at Farmers empowers employees to achieve both personal and professional growth as they pursue their individual careers.
