Farmers Insurance

A free review. No strings attached.

Insurance is easy to set and forget. Until something changes — or something goes wrong.

A Farmers Coverage Review is a simple conversation that can help you understand what your policy actually covers, and where it might fall short. The best part? You don’t even need to be a Farmers customer. We’ll walk through it with you either way.

How do I request a Farmers Coverage Review?

1. Ideally, get a copy of your coverage page(s) for your auto and/or home policies. If you don’t have this, we can still help when you call.
2. Call 800-258-8414 during operating hours (Monday to Friday , 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Eastern).
3. Review your coverage with us and we’ll help you identify opportunities to adjust your protection, save money, or both.

Why take a closer look?

As your life evolves, your policy should too. You may be eligible for better coverage, better pricing, or even both.

Understand what’s in your policy and save

You could spot gaps before they become problems, update what’s changed, and see if you qualify for any new discounts.

When should you do this?

Once a year. Or anytime life takes a turn, because the smartest time to rethink your insurance is before you need it.

What information do I need for a Farmers Coverage Review?

Ideally, we need to review the summary page from your insurance policy. Most insurance companies make policy documents available through their website or mobile app. A typical path to find these documents is: My Account → My Policy → View Policy Documents.

If you see a page called “Declarations,” you’re getting warm. This is a summary document that gives you a quick view of the most important details, like what’s covered, how much coverage you have, and what you’re paying. Think of it as your policy’s “at-a-glance” guide. This is the page you’ll want to share with us when you call — but don’t worry if you don’t have this, give us a call and we can still help.

Your information will remain completely confidential, and you can share only the information you’re comfortable sharing — whether that’s sending us your policy overview page, or reading it to us over the phone. We’ll make it easy.

Look for a page in your policy document that lists information such as:

  • Who’s covered
  • What’s covered (your vehicle, home, or other property)
  • Your coverage types and limits
  • Your deductible amounts
  • You premium (as in, how much you pay)
  • Your policy start and end dates

And since we at Farmers are all about transparency, we’ll pause here to clarify some lawyer-y jargon you’ll see:

  • “Named insured” - The person or people insured by the policy.
  • “Policy number” - Your unique ID. Important if you need to file a claim.
  • “Policy period” - Start and end dates for the insurance.
  • “Coverages” - The buckets of protection in your policy, like personal belongings, living expenses while your home is being repaired, etc.
  • “Coverage limits” - The ceiling (or, “up to this much max”) for each bucket of protection in your policy.
  • “Deductible” - How much you pay out of pocket before your insurance will consider paying your claim.
  • “Endorsements” - Add-on “extra” coverage, for example, fine art or expensive jewelry.
