Introducing the First Choice Repair Program

We appreciate the opportunity to serve your insurance needs and we want to help you through your claim as quickly and efficiently as possible. 

One way we can help is through the First Choice Repair Program. The First Choice Repair Program is for customers who have damage to roof, siding or gutters. Farmers Insurance has a trusted relationship with First Choice Repair, a third party administrator, who credentials and manages networks of licensed, insured, contractors who are experienced in performing roofing, siding and gutter repairs.

You are under no obligation to use the First Choice Repair Program. You may use any contractor you wish. The choice is yours.

With the First Choice Repair Program the claims process is simplified. You do not have to spend your time contacting contractors, setting appointments and waiting for estimates. A specialist with the First Choice Repair Program will do this for you by arranging for an appointment with one of their network contractors. What’s more, you will receive a strong contractor warranty that is backed by the First Choice Repair Program.

Here is how it works
  1. Contact your agent or HelpPoint Claim Services (1-800-435-7764) to report the loss to your property.
  2. Let your Farmers claims representative know you wish to use the First Choice Repair Program (1-800-587-4243).
  3. The First Choice Repair Program will contact you to schedule an appointment with one of their network contractors.
  4. The contractor will review the written estimate and provide a written scope of work for your consideration.
  5. If you are satisfied with the First Choice Repair scope and the Farmers claim representative has approved the estimate, then all you have to do is authorize the contractor to begin. 
  6. You pay your insurance deductible to the contractor at the time you authorize the contract to perform the repairs.
  7. At the conclusion of the repairs the contractor will perform a walk-through with you.  First Choice Repair and the contractor will work to address any issues and review the warranty.

GreenShingle a premiere shingle recycling program working in partnership with Farmers Insurance to help dispose of asphalt shingles in an eco-friendly manner.
Recycled Asphalt Shingles (RAS) are sweeping the nation as a preferred substitute additive in Hot Mix Asphalt, which is used extensively in road construction and repair. Each year, over 12 million tons of shingles go into U.S. landfills and take up to 300 years to decompose. Now there is a solution, and it is one that will benefit the environment.
