Who Are We?

The Med/PIP team provides claims services for Medical Payment and Personal Injury Protection benefits in Auto, Commercial and Homeowners policies. Our goal is to resolve your claim with accuracy, efficiency and superior service.

What can I expect if I have a medical claim?

Once we determine your injury is covered by your policy, a medical claim specialist will call as soon as possible; you’ll never have to wait more than one business day except on weekends or holidays. During this conversation, your medical claim specialist will outline the process, verify needed information, explain available benefits, ensure that expectations for future communication are clearly defined and communicate what documentation we will need to obtain to make this process as seamless as possible.

Auto Policies

Medical coverage according to your Auto policy terms typically provides payment for medical treatment when you, covered family members, or passengers sustain injuries due to an accident in your insured vehicle. You or a family member may also be covered when riding as a passenger in someone else’s vehicle, or when struck by a vehicle as a pedestrian.

Available benefits include things such as ambulance charges, emergency room or hospital care, x-rays, physicians, surgery and funeral expenses. Your medical claim specialist can explain these benefits in more detail.

Homeowners Policies

If you’ve purchased medical coverage as part of a Homeowners/Condo/Renters policy, it typically provides payment for several types of expenses incurred when visitors are injured while on your premises with your permission.

These include costs for ambulances, x-rays, hospital fees, surgery, dental procedures, prosthetic devices, professional nursing and funeral services. Under certain conditions, it may also cover people who are not injured at your insured location. This type of coverage doesn’t usually apply to you or regular residents of your household. Your medical claim specialist can explain this coverage in more detail.

Personal Injury Protection (PIP):

Personal Injury Protection – commonly called PIP – provides payment in the event that an insured person, or another covered individual suffers bodily injury in a covered accident. P I P usually covers a broader range of medical costs than standard medical payment coverage, and may even include compensation for lost wages or the replacement of services provided by someone injured in a covered accident.

Availability varies by state, so ask your agent or medical claim specialist if P I P coverage is included in your policy.
