Whether you're just starting out with a brief trip, or a veteran full-timer taking all the amenities of home with you, you still want the peace of mind that comes with knowing you have comprehensive insurance coverage.
We've developed specialized Travel Trailer insurance programs that provide comprehensive coverage so that you can sit back and enjoy your trip. Covered travel trailers include:
Our policies provide important standard and optional coverages not available in conventional auto policies, or in the stripped down RV policies offered by other companies. A Farmers travel trailer insurance policy, on the other hand, can give you more security and more value for your money.
Here are some of the travel trailer coverages we offer that aren't included in a typical auto policy:
Farmers offers important optional coverages that let you customize your policy. Some coverages may be subject to company approval or may not be available in all states. These are a few of the most popular coverage options:
Policy discounts vary by state and chances are one or more will apply to your policy. Please contact your Farmers agent to see what specific discounts are available in your area.
Farmers offers policies in the United States, in all states except Hawaii. The program is not available in Washington, D.C. Please note that policies, coverages and coverage amounts vary by state. All coverages may not be available in all areas.
The biggest mistake many travel trailer owners make is insuring their rig on an auto policy. At claim time, they may discover they don't have the specialized coverages they need. And that can be a very unpleasant surprise!
Here are some of the myths and realities that you may want to consider when looking for an insurance policy for your travel trailer:
Myth: "My homeowners policy will cover all my personal property on the road."
Reality: Most auto policies don't include comprehensive coverage for personal belongings, and homeowner policies typically place strict limits on off-premises coverage and require a sizable deductible to be paid first. Farmers policies provide optional comprehensive coverage for personal belongings, and in most cases don't require a deductible.
Myth: "An insurance policy won't help me if my travel trailer breaks down."
Reality: Farmers offers TraveLine® towing and roadside assistance. If your travel trailer or tow vehicle is disabled anywhere in the US or Canada, you can call Farmers' toll-free TraveLine® number for towing or roadside help. Farmers policies also include high limits to cover the towing or servicing of larger travel trailers, and a "sign and drive" privilege that covers towing or roadside assistance expenses on the spot.
Farmers also offers outstanding emergency expense coverage. Unlike typical auto policies, our travel trailer policy pays for temporary housing or travel expenses to get you home if your travel trailer is damaged while you're on the road. We'll even pay to transport your damaged travel trailer to your home, a repair center, or a storage facility.
