How can I learn more about Thank America’s Teachers?℠

Please email ThankAmericasTeachers@farmersinsurance.com.

Thanking a Teacher

Can I thank a friend or family member who is a teacher?

Absolutely.

Can I thank more than one teacher?

Yes. It’s likely that we all know more than one teacher who deserves a heartfelt thank you note, so please thank any teacher who has made a difference in your life.

Does the teacher I send a thank you to need to be a public school teacher?

No. Every teacher can be thanked. It doesn’t matter if the teacher works at a public, private, religious- or home-based school facility. What matters is that they are (or were) a teacher and deserve a heartfelt thank you.

The teacher I want to thank is in another state. Can I still thank him or her?

Yes. We welcome “Thank You” messages to any teacher in any state. We know every teacher thanked will appreciate it.

I don’t know if the teacher I want to thank is still teaching – he/she may have retired or passed away. Can I still thank him or her?

Absolutely. Farmers Insurance® wants to help you give a heartfelt thank you to both active and retired teachers across the country.

Submit a Proposal

When can teachers submit a proposal for a $2,500 grant?

January through February, May, and August through September. Teachers who have been thanked through the Thank America’s Teachers site will have three opportunities to submit proposals to win $2,500 grants. Click here for official content rules.

When can teachers submit a proposal for a $100,000 Dream Big Teacher Challenge grant?

Teachers who have been thanked through the Thank America’s Teachers site and are employed as K-12 teachers can submit a proposal for a $100,000 Dream Big Teacher Challenge grant anytime from January through June.

Can teachers submit a proposal for a $2,500 grant at the same time they submit a proposal for the $100,000 Dream Big Teacher Challenge?

Yes. Proposals for both grant contests can be submitted at the same time but please be aware that each of the two grant contests are unique and require individual submissions as described in the official contest rules Submitting a proposal for one contest is not the same as submitting for both. Entrants must submit a proposal for a $2,500 grant separate from the submission for a $100,000 grant.

Are teachers in every state eligible to submit a proposal?

Yes. Any teacher in the 50 United States and the District of Columbia can submit a proposal after they have been thanked through Thank America’s Teachers. To learn more about eligibility requirements, read the Contest Rules for the $2,500 grant and the $100,000 Dream Big Teacher Challenge.

Do proposals need to be sponsored by a Farmers agent?

While not required, it is strongly encouraged that each proposal be sponsored by a Farmers agent. Farmers agents can help spread the word and encourage community members to vote for your proposal. To find a Farmers agent in your area, visit our Farmers Agent Locator.

Can private school teachers submit a proposal for a grant?

Yes. Proposals will be accepted from currently employed Kindergarten through 12th grade teachers who have received a thank you message through Thank America’s Teachers and meet eligibility requirements.

I understand that the $2,500 grant is awarded through Adopt A Classroom. Can a teacher submit a proposal through Thank America’s Teachers and separately register at AdoptAClassroom.org?

Yes. Farmers Insurance is proud to work with Adopt A Classroom to help bring needed resources to classrooms across the country. We encourage teachers to visit AdoptAClassroom.org to learn more about additional resources.

Do teachers need to register with Adopt A Classroom to be considered for a grant?

No. While it might be helpful, registering with Adopt A Classroom is not required to be considered when submitting a proposal nor will it increase the chances of winning.

If teachers submit a proposal during one contest period, can they submit another proposal during another contest period?

Yes. Proposals will not be carried over from one contest period to the next and teachers who have previously won a Thank America’s Teachers grant are not eligible for a grant of the same amount; however, teachers can resubmit a proposal in a later contest period.
