ELIGIBILITY:

The “DREAM BIG TEACHER CHALLENGE” CONTEST (the “Contest”) is open to full-time, employed school teachers, Kindergarten (K) through Twelfth (12th) Grade, who have been officially thanked at www.thankamericasteachers.com, who have not been a "DREAM BIG TEACHER CHALLENGE" Contest Winner, who are legal residents of the United States, excluding where otherwise prohibited by law, rule or regulation, which are at least 18 years of age at the time of entry. THIS CONTEST IS SPECIFICALLY VOID OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES, IN PUERTO RICO, AND WHEREVER PROHIBITED BY LAW. NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN CONTEST AND IT WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR ODDS OF WINNING. Employees of Farmers Group, Inc. (“Sponsor”) and Farmers Insurance Exchange or any of their promotional or advertising agencies with regard to this Contest and each of its and their respective parents, affiliates and subsidiaries, and each of their respective officers, employees, directors, members, legal representatives, agents, district managers, successors and assigns are not eligible. Proof of legal U.S. residency, proof of employment as a full-time school teacher (K-12th grade) at time of entry and at time of prize award and age may be required. The Winner must be a full-time, employed school teacher in the United States at the time of entry and on the date the Prize is awarded.

HOW TO ENTER:

The Contest begins at 9:00 a.m. (Pacific Standard Time (“PST”) on January 1, 2016 and officially ends at 11:59:59 p.m. PST on December 18, 2016 (“Contest Period”). The Contest will consist of an Entry Period, Judging Period, Voting Period, Vote Results Period and Winner Announcement Period as follows:

Contest Entry Period: January 1, 2016 through June 30, 2016 (Contestants submit written proposals (“Entry” or “Proposal”) during this period);

Judging Period: July 1, 2016 through September 20, 2016 (Sponsor will review and judge the Entries and narrow the field down to the Top 15 Entries/Proposals and notify the Top 15 (“Finalists”));

Voting Period: October 1, 2016 through October 31, 2016 (The Finalist Entries will be posted online at www.thankamericasteachers.com and the general public can vote for their favorite Entry during this period).

Vote Results Period: November 1, 2016 through November 30, 2016 (Sponsor will review vote totals and verify winners)

Winner Announcement Period: December 1, 2016 through December 18, 2016 (Sponsor will notify all Winners) Individuals (the “Contestant” or “Entrant”) can enter the Contest by submitting a proposal during the Contest Entry Period by clicking on the “Submit A Proposal” icon located on the “Thank America’s Teachers” website located at www.thankamericasteachers.com and following the “Dream Big Teacher Challenge” proposal instructions (“Entry”, “Entries”, “Proposal” or “Proposals”). You must register on the website to be eligible for the Contest. Entries are limited to one (1) Entry per Contestant per Contest. During the Judging Period, the Sponsor will review the proposals and judge the proposals based on the following criteria: (1) Creativity, (2) Economic Need and (3) Community Impact. The Sponsor will select the Top 15 Proposals (“Finalists”). Finalists will be notified on or before September 20, 2016 of their selection. There will be up to fifteen (15) Finalists (15 Total Finalists) and the Finalists’ Proposals will be posted online at www.thankamericasteachers.com for voting by the general public during the Voting Period.

Proposals may be voted on by the general public one time per day during the Voting Period. Sponsor reserves the right to not post or reject submitted Proposals that do not comply with the guidelines posted on the website. The top six (6) Proposals who receive the most votes will be declared the Winners (“Winners”) and each Winner will be awarded the Prize. Up to six (6) total Winners will be declared per Contest. Individuals who do not submit their Entry and/or do not meet the additional eligibility requirements as set forth above will not be eligible to win a Prize. Sponsor’s computer is the official clock for all purposes related to the Contest. Sponsor, Farmers Insurance Exchange, and Sponsor Affiliates and each of its advertising or promotion agencies with regard to the Contest and each of its and their respective parents, affiliates and subsidiaries, and each of their respective officers, employees, directors, members, legal representatives, agents, successors and assigns (collectively, the “Released Parties”) are not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, garbled, illegible, or misdirected Contest Entries, or for any error, human, technical or otherwise, which may occur in the processing of Contest Entries. Proof of entry or participating in the Contest will not be deemed to be proof of receipt. All Entries become the exclusive property of Sponsor and may not be acknowledged. Any use of robotic, automatic, programmed or similar entry methods or any attempt to manipulate the voting process will void all such Entries by such methods. All Entries must be the original work and/or material of the Contestant.

SELECTION OF WINNER:

There will be up to six (6) winners per Contest (the “Winner(s)”). A total of up to six (6) Winners will be declared over the course of the Contest. The decisions of Sponsor, including the selection of the Finalists and Winner(s), are final and binding on all matters relating to this Contest. Odds of winning depend on the total number of Contestants during the Contest. Limit one (1) Prize(s) per Winner per Contest.

PRIZE(S):

Each Winner will be awarded a $100,000.00 grant in the Winner’s name to be used solely and only for the purposes set forth in the winning Proposal (the “Prize(s)”). Winner will not be receiving any cash or cash equivalent value. The $100,000.00 Prize will be paid in the Winner’s name directly to a qualifying 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization as designated and set forth in the winning Proposal. Sponsor reserves the right to pay or distribute the Prize as a lump sum or in installments based upon the fulfillment of completed milestones as set forth in the winning Proposal. If Winner loses his or her position as a full-time school teacher before expending or using the entire $100,000 Prize amount, the unspent or unused portion of the Prize may be forfeited as determined by Sponsor. All Prizes must be spent or used within (1) year from the date of award or otherwise the Prize or any remaining portion of the Prize is forfeited. Winner may be required to execute an Affidavit of Eligibility, a liability release, a publicity release, a general release, a grant award agreement and/or other documents, including, but not limited to, tax documents, as applicable, except where prohibited by law. All costs and expenses associated with Prize acceptance and use not specified herein as being provided, related to the Prize, including, but not limited to, any taxes and other expenses incurred by accepting the Prize are the sole responsibility of the Winner. All Prize(s) are awarded “As Is”. Neither Sponsor, nor Farmers Insurance Exchange, nor any of Sponsor’s Affiliates, nor Released Parties, make, nor are they in any manner responsible or liable for, any warranty, representation or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to the Prize(s) including but not limited to its quality, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or condition.

USE OF DATA:

Sponsor may be collecting personal data about Contestants including, without limitation, name, phone number, email address, date of birth, biographical information, city and state of residence and zip code when Contestant enters the Contest or is selected as a Finalist or is selected as the Winner. Finalist's and Winner’s First and Last Name, representative school, photo, image, likeness and city and state of residence may be posted on www.Farmers.com, www.thankamericasteachers.com, and/or www.Facebook.com/FarmersInsurance. Sponsor is entitled to use personal data contained in all entries in accordance with the Sponsor’s privacy policy. By participating in the Contest, Contestants hereby agree to all personal information uses and disclaimers as explained in Sponsor’s Privacy Policy located at Farmers.com. AGREEMENT TO OFFICIAL RULES:

PARTICIPATION IN THE CONTEST CONSTITUTES CONTESTANT’S FULL AND UNCONDITIONAL AGREEMENT TO AND ACCEPTANCE OF THESE OFFICIAL RULES AND SPONSOR’S PRIVACY POLICY AT FARMERS.COM. CONTESTANTS HEREBY CONSENT AND AGREE TO BE CONTACTED BY TELEPHONE OR EMAIL BY A FARMERS’ AGENT OR REPRESENTATIVE OF SPONSOR OR SPONSOR’S AFFILIATES. SPONSOR’S DECISIONS ARE FINAL AND BINDING. BY ENTERING THIS CONTEST YOU ARE AGREEING TO THESE OFFICIAL RULES.

WINNER NOTIFICATION:

Winner will be notified by the Sponsor via telephone or email or in person during the Winner Announcement Period. In the event that the Winner does not respond to any such notification within forty-eight (48) hours of the first such attempt, a disqualification may result and, at Sponsor’s discretion, an alternate Winner may be chosen from the Contestants with the next highest vote total. Winner is subject to qualification by the Sponsor. Except where otherwise expressly noted in these Official Rules, the selection of all vendors, prizes, products and services is subject to the Sponsor’s sole and absolute discretion. Prize is nontransferable and non-exchangeable. No substitutions or cash redemption of Prize is permitted except that Sponsor retains the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater retail value (or at Sponsor’s election, the cash value of the applicable Prize). Additional restrictions may apply. No refunds or credit for changes are allowed. No transfer of the Prize is permitted. Noncompliance within this time period may result in disqualification, and an alternate winner may be selected. Return of any Prize notification as undeliverable may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate Winner.

GENERAL CONDITIONS:

The Contest is governed by the laws of the United States and the State of California, excluding conflicts of laws principles. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Contestants and Winners hereby consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of California courts (state and federal) in Los Angeles County for any causes or controversies arising out of the Contest. Contestants and Winners waive any and all objections to jurisdiction and venue in these courts. Except where prohibited by law, Winners grant to Sponsor and its advertising agencies the right to use and publish Winner’s photo, image, name, likeness, voice, opinions, biographical information, representative school and city and state of residence in any media, currently known or unknown, and to promote the Contest without additional compensation. Winner may be required by Sponsor to participate in photo and/or video sessions. Winner agrees to make him/her available for publicity purposes including, but not limited to, photo and video sessions and public appearances without charge. Winner may be required to execute an Affidavit of Eligibility, liability release, publicity release, general release, grant award agreement and other documents, if necessary, including but not limited to tax documents, as applicable, except where prohibited by law. Winner shall be solely responsible for all applicable taxes on the value of the Prize and, if applicable, will be issued an IRS 1099-MISC tax form for the real value of the Prize. By entering, Contestants and Winners release, indemnify and hold harmless Sponsor and the Released Parties from any and all liability for any injuries, loss or damage of any kind, including death, arising from or in connection with the Contest or receipt or use and/or misuse of any Prize. Contestant and Winner hereby waive all rights to any claim(s), punitive, incidental or consequential damages, or any other damages whatsoever, including court costs and attorneys’ fees. Furthermore, Contestant and Winner agree that any and all disputes and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest and the Prize awarded shall be resolved solely by Sponsor, shall be final and binding, and without resort to any form of class action. Sponsor, Released Parties and its affiliates shall not be responsible for Acts of God, acts of terrorism, actions or inactions of any governmental entity (foreign or domestic) or its agencies and/or departments, civil unrest or disturbances, riots, work stoppage delays, postponements, inclement weather, rescheduling or any other natural disasters outside its respective control. Sponsor reserves the right, in its own discretion, to cancel or modify the Contest or disqualify a Contestant or disqualify votes obtained, with or without cause, or if fraud or any other factor impairs the spirit or integrity of the Contest as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. If Sponsor cancels or modifies the Contest, Sponsor reserves the right to award or not award Prizes in its sole discretion. Entries are deemed made by the authorized account holder of the email account and associated e-mail address at the time of entry submission. The “authorized account holder” is deemed the natural person who participates via his or her email account and is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, service provider or other online organization that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the associated e-mail address. A potential Winner may be requested to provide Sponsor with proof that the potential Winner is the authorized account holder of the e-mail address account associated with the winning entry is a legal United States resident and complies with all the eligibility requirements of these Official Rules. Prize will only be awarded to the authorized account holder. If, in Sponsor’s opinion, there is any suspected or actual evidence of electronic or non-electronic tampering with any portion of the Contest, or if technical difficulties or methods used to cast or obtain votes compromise the spirit and/or integrity of the Contest, Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to void any entries at issue (including disqualifying any individual who tampers or otherwise interferes with the entry process), and/or to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest, in whole or in part, at any time without notice. In the event of such cancellation, Sponsor reserves the right to award the Prize(s) in a random drawing from all Contestants received before the time of cancellation. Sponsor in no way promotes illegal acts, and any and all entries which include or promote illegal acts will be disqualified. Sponsor assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction of unauthorized access to, or alternation of, entries. Sponsor is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, e-mail or entry received by Sponsor on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site, including www.farmers.com or www.thankamericasteachers.com, any combination thereof, or otherwise, including any injury or damage to Contestant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in the Contest.

CAUTION:

ANY ATTEMPT BY A CONTESTANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

PRIZE(S):

Each Winner will be awarded a $2,500 credit to be used solely and only for classroom purposes through Adopt A Classroom (the “Prize(s)”).

Winner will not be receiving any cash or cash equivalent value. The $2,500 Prize value will be paid in the Winner’s name directly to “Adopt A Classroom” only. If Winner loses his or her position as a full-time school teacher before expending or using the entire $2,500 Prize amount, the unspent or unused portion of the Prize will be forfeited. All Prizes must be spent or used within one (1) year from the date of award of Prize or otherwise the Prize or any remaining portion of the Prize is forfeited.

Winners who qualify for a $2,500 grant through “THANK AMERICA’S TEACHERS” Contest agree to the following and understand the following will be relied upon in connection with “THANK AMERICA’S TEACHERS” Contest.

Acceptance of prize constitutes permission for Sponsor to use the names, image, voice and/or likenesses and/or entry submission of the Winners for purposes of advertising and trade without further compensation, including, but not limited to, a winners list, unless prohibited by law. In addition, each Winner may be required by Sponsor to participate in a photo and/or video session(s); each agrees that Sponsor has the right to use his or her name, voice, likeness and/or image and such publicity photos, and video(s), in any media (including, but not limited to, television and the Internet), and in any reasonable manner Sponsor deems fit.

For good and valuable consideration, Winners hereby give consent to the use of his or her name, likeness, image, voice and/or appearance in media for purposes of advertising, publicity, marketing, and trade, including, but limited to, a winners’ list, and consent to having his or her video and/or images posted at www.thankamericateachers.com, www.Facebook.com/FarmersInsurance, or any other social media or promotional site owned, operated, managed or controlled by Sponsor or on behalf of Sponsor and its agencies without compensation other than Contest Prize.

Winners understand that the Prize includes: a $2,500 grant on his or her behalf which must be used to purchase school supplies through Adopt A Classroom.org. Grant checks will not be written to the Winner(s). The grant checks will be written to Adopt A Classroom.org and the winning teachers will access their funds through Adopt A Classroom only. Sponsor is not responsible or liable for the disbursement of funds from Adopt A Classroom.org or any third party. Winners will not receive cash or any cash equivalent value.

Winners agree to release, discharge and hold harmless Sponsor and its advertising, promotion and internet agencies from and against any and all liability (including damages caused or claimed to be caused) arising out of participation and/or acceptance/use of prize, and agree to be bound by the Official Rules and Sponsor’s Contest decisions, which are final and binding.

GENERAL CONDITIONS:

The Contest is governed by the laws of the United States and the State of California, excluding conflicts of laws principles. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Contestants and Winners hereby consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of California courts (state and federal) in Los Angeles County for any causes or controversies arising out of the Contest. Contestants and Winners waive any and all objections to jurisdiction and venue in these courts.

Except where prohibited by law, Winners grant to Sponsor and its advertising agencies the right to use and publish Winner’s photo, image, name, likeness, voice, opinions, biographical information, representative school and city and state of residence in any media, currently known or unknown, and to promote the Contest without additional compensation. Winner may be required by Sponsor to participate in photo and/or video sessions. Winner agrees to make him/her available for publicity purposes including, but not limited to, photo and video sessions and public appearances without charge. Winner may be required to execute an Affidavit of Eligibility, liability release, publicity release, general release and other documents, if necessary, including but not limited to tax documents, as applicable, except where prohibited by law. Winner shall be solely responsible for all applicable taxes on the value of the Prize and, if applicable, will be issued an IRS 1099-MISC tax form for the real value of the Prize.

By entering, Contestants and Winners release, indemnify and hold harmless Sponsor and the Released Parties from any and all liability for any injuries, loss or damage of any kind, including death, arising from or in connection with the Contest or receipt or use and/or misuse of any Prize. Contestant and Winner hereby waive all rights to any claim(s), punitive, incidental or consequential damages, or any other damages whatsoever, including court costs and attorneys’ fees. Furthermore, Contestant and Winner agree that any and all disputes and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest and the Prize awarded shall be resolved solely by Sponsor, shall be final and binding, and without resort to any form of class action. Sponsor, Released Parties and its affiliates shall not be responsible for Acts of God, acts of terrorism, actions or inactions of any governmental entity (foreign or domestic) or its agencies and/or departments, civil unrest or disturbances, riots, work stoppage delays, postponements, inclement weather, rescheduling or any other natural disasters outside its respective control.

Sponsor reserves the right, in its own discretion, to cancel or modify the Contest or disqualify a Contestant or disqualify votes obtained, with or without cause, or if fraud or any other factor impairs the spirit or integrity of the Contest as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. If Sponsor cancels or modifies the Contest, Sponsor reserves the right to award or not award Prizes in its sole discretion.

Entries are deemed made by the authorized account holder of the email account and associated e-mail address at the time of entry submission. The “authorized account holder” is deemed the natural person who participates via his or her email account and is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, service provider or other online organization that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the associated e-mail address. A potential Winner may be requested to provide Sponsor with proof that the potential Winner is the authorized account holder of the e-mail address account associated with the winning entry is a legal United States resident and complies with all the eligibility requirements of these Official Rules. Prize will only be awarded to the authorized account holder.

If, in Sponsor’s opinion, there is any suspected or actual evidence of electronic or non-electronic tampering with any portion of the Contest, or if technical difficulties or methods used to cast or obtain votes compromise the spirit and/or integrity of the Contest, Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to void any entries at issue (including disqualifying any individual who tampers or otherwise interferes with the entry process), and/or to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest, in whole or in part, at any time without notice. In the event of such cancellation, Sponsor reserves the right to award the Prize(s) in a random drawing from all Contestants received before the time of cancellation.

Sponsor in no way promotes illegal acts, and any and all entries which include or promote illegal acts will be disqualified. Sponsor assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction of unauthorized access to, or alternation of, entries. Sponsor is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, e-mail or entry received by Sponsor on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site, including www.farmers.com or www.thankamericasteachers.com, any combination thereof, or otherwise, including any injury or damage to Contestant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in the Contest.

CAUTION:

ANY ATTEMPT BY A CONTESTANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

Attention: Kelly LaMar, 6301 Owensmouth Ave., Woodland Hills, CA 91367. Results will be available within 30 days of the end of each Contest Period. All requests must be received by December 30, 2016.
