Farmers Insurance Prepared to Help Customers and Monitoring for more Severe Weather


LOS ANGELES (March 27, 2017) – Last night a severe weather system moved through Northern Texas bringing with it strong winds and softball size hail in Denton and Collin counties. Farmers Insurance® catastrophe claims representatives, agents, other personnel and resources are engaged and have begun helping customers who suffered damage.

Farmers Insurance Head of Texas, Jim Swope, encouraged customers to take a careful look at their homes and autos for potential damage. Based on initial damage assessments customers should be cautious when attempting to drive a vehicle that may have severe damage to a window, headlights or taillights and consider whether the vehicle needs to be towed for repair. Homeowners are also encouraged to assess the outside of their home and look for potential damage including damage to pools, hot tubs, patio furniture and other exterior structures.

Swope urges customers who are expecting severe weather to take time to prepare their homes and their families for potential winds, hail and tornadoes, having emergency supplies and plans in place, and keeping a close eye on upcoming weather.
