Farmers Insurance District Manager, Jason Brassell, of Englewood, Colorado Presents Armed Services YMCA with Donation of $13,500

Los Angeles, Calif. (February 27, 2015) –
Jason Brassell, a local district manager for Farmers Insurance in Englewood, Colorado was part of a delegation of Farmers Insurance executives who recently presented the Armed Services YMCA of San Diego with a donation of $13,500 to help the non-profit group continue its mission of enhancing the lives of service members and their families by providing programs and services that are relevant to the unique challenges of military life. The grant was presented to the YMCA in Brassell’s name by Farmers Financial Solutions, part of the Farmers Insurance Group of Companies, in recognition of his efforts to support families in his own community.

“I am honored and humbled by the opportunity to recognize the achievements of the Armed Services YMCA and the dedicated community of military service families they serve through this grant,” said Brassell. “Being able to represent Farmers in presenting the donation was truly moving.”

Farmers, one of the nation’s largest multiline insurers, presented the charitable grant as part of a number of community-focused events related to the Farmers Insurance Open, which was held at the famed Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego in early February.

“We are grateful to the people at Farmers Insurance and Farmers Financial Solutions for their generous support,” said Tim Ney, executive director of the Armed Services YMCA. “It is through the support of organizations like Farmers that we are able to provide much-needed programs and services to the military community.”

Assisting Farmers Financial Solutions in raising funds for the YMCA group were financial services companies, AXA and Principal Funds.

In addition to supporting military-focused service organizations like the Armed Services YMCA and the USO, Farmers has been actively seeking military veterans to join the organization as Agency Owners and for employment opportunities in locations across the country.

Recently, Farmers was designated as one of the top 150 Military-Friendly Companies and one of the Top 50 Military Spouse Friendly companies. With approximately 20-percent of the company’s Agency Owners having served in the military, many veterans have found the Farmers opportunity to be an excellent fit with the training and experience they secured through their service to the nation.
