Whether we meet you on campus or you find the internship posting online, we require that all candidates submit an online application via our Careers site to be considered. Be sure to click on the "Search Here" green icon above, type in "internship" under the Search by Keyword section, and select the office location that most interests you.
Within our regional locations, we generally recruit business and quantitative majors, including finance, economics, management, accounting, marketing, mathematics, risk management, insurance, information science or related fields.
At our Los Angeles corporate office, interns work in a variety of departments including Accounting, Actuary, Finance, Advertising & Media, Business Insurance, Communications, Marketing, Underwriting, Risk Management, Personal Lines, Regulatory Affairs, and Information Technology.
Interns in other locations (DE, IN, MI, and TX) are exposed to a variety of business operations including Actuary, Claims and Marketing.
The first step is to submit an online application; once it is received, our team will review your information. First round interviews are typically conducted over the phone or in-person with one of our recruiters. After further evaluation, some candidates may be invited for on-site interviews. Once you apply, we can provide more specific details.
Our internships require skills and knowledge typically acquired after completing several "in major" courses. Therefore, we tend to hire rising juniors and rising seniors (those students who have already completed their sophomore and/or junior year) along with current students pursuing a Masters in related field.
Students interested in receiving college credit for their internship experience will need to check with their university and/or advisor regarding requirements. Please discuss necessary requirements with your Farmers internship recruiter. We will do our best to work with you!
