Statement from Robert Woudstra, CEO of Farmers Insurance regarding signing of job creation legislation by CA Governor Jerry Brown

“Today is a great day for California and especially so for residents of Southern California. By signing significant job creation legislation today, California Governor Jerry Brown has taken another significant step to revitalize the state’s economy. The legislation signed by the Governor includes a provision allowing the Farmers Field project and its projected 23,000 new jobs (12,000 construction jobs and 11,000 permanent jobs) to move forward."

“As the largest insurer headquartered in Southern California, and with over 2,000 Farmers small business owners and over 3,500 employees in the region, Farmers Insurance has a proud legacy of partnering with public and private organizations to improve communities throughout the state. Our proposed sponsorship of the Farmers Field project is a clear demonstration of our commitment to help grow jobs and improve the economic climate in the region.”

“We thank the Governor, the Legislature, the Mayor and the City Council for their continued support of Farmers Field and their joint efforts to revitalize California’s economy.”
