St. Louis, MO (August 19, 2011) -- Farmers Insurance will present the Missouri state chapter of the March of Dimes with a donation of over $75,000 at the start of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball game on Tuesday, August 23, which is being recognized as Farmers Insurance Day at Busch Stadium in honor of the presentation.
“Farmers is a long time supporter of the March of Dimes, and we want to invite members of the greater St. Louis area to join in the fun and the ‘fun’-draising at Busch Stadium,” said Paul Crosetti, Missouri state executive director for Farmers Insurance. “Helping prevent premature births is something everyone can support, and that’s why we’re inviting the local community to join us and the March of Dimes in this effort.”
Adding to the game’s excitement will be a special flyover by the Farmers Airship, recognized as the world’s largest working zeppelin.
Those wishing to support the March of Dimes and watch the Cardinals take on the Los Angeles Dodgers can do so by purchasing their tickets via a unique web site developed especially for the event - www.cardinals.com/farmershero. Five dollars ($5) of every ticket purchased will go to helping babies have a better chance as they start their lives.
In addition, those purchasing these special tickets will be eligible to participate in a number of related pre-game activities, including a special tailgate party hosted by local Farmers agents, district manager, employees and customers. Local BBQ legend Bill Kirgan will be grilling and smoking with his secret sauce and local country singing sensation Robyn Lee will provide additional musical entertainment. Fred Bird, the St. Louis Cardinals mascot, is also scheduled to make a pre-game appearance at the Farmers tailgate party.
