Nutting is elected HLDI Board Chairman

ARLINGTON, VA — The Highway Loss Data Institute is pleased to announce the election of James Nutting as the new chairman of its Board of Directors. Nutting is senior vice president and chief actuary, Farmers Insurance Group of Companies. He succeeds Martin Deede, vice president — actuarial, MetLife Auto and Home, who served as HLDI chairman in 2011 and will continue to serve as a Board member.

“HLDI’s detailed analyses of motor vehicle insurance losses help consumers pick the safest vehicles for their families. I’m proud to partner with HLDI and my fellow Board members as we advance this critical work,” Nutting says. HLDI president Adrian Lund adds, “James’ leadership will be key as HLDI continues to grow its database of comparative loss information and researches the effects of vehicle safety features, including crash avoidance systems.”
