|The Bronze Screen: 100 Years of the Latino Image in Hollywood Cinema
Farmers is proud to bring you BronzeScreen.net which is your entryway to the Farmers Historia Student Competition and a number of resources for teachers and students interested in film, history and culture. All of these materials have been developed based on the HBO documentary film The Bronze Screen: 100 Years of the Latino Image in Hollywood Cinema.
In partnership with local school districts and education organizations across the state, Farmers will provide teachers with 10,000 free copies of The Bronze Screen film in either DVD or VHS formats. Teachers will also be able to receive a free companion teaching guide that includes lessons plans applicable for many academic subjects and grade levels. Farmers will host an Historia (or Story) competition that invites students in grades 6-12 to tell a story about a person, place or event that is important to them. Entries will be accepted as either written compositions or finished videos.
Find a new and innovative way of reaching your students by going to Teachers Resources for easily downloadable resources. Be sure to visit us periodically to browse our Showcase where we will feature selected winners of the Historia competition. We also invite you to visit our other educational sites: youngamericanos and americanpromise for additional resources.
