Swimming Pool Safety

As the temperature outside rises, your kids can't wait to dive into the cool swimming pool. Like any parent, you worry about your childrens’ safety. Before you take the plunge, here are some tips from the Farmers family to keep your family safe while you enjoy fun in the sun!

Never leave your children unsupervised near a pool.
Do not use flotation devices as a substitute for supervision.
Do not think your children “can’t drown” just because they had swimming lessons.
Put fencing around your swimming pool. Keep doors leading to the pool area locked to prevent unsupervised children from getting to the pool.
Keep all electrical devices (CD players, radios, etc) away from the pool.
Keep toys away from the pool. Young children playing with toys could accidentally fall in the water.
Learn CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation). Most Community Centers offer this course for free.
