Economics
Give your students hands-on lessons in economics with these activities that let them see how opportunities are created in our society -- and who takes advantage of them.
Activities
Candy Store
Help students see what happens when there are competing interests, by having the class decide how the government should allocate its budget. What happens when there aren't enough resources to go around?
Starting Small
What does it take to be an entrepreneur? Have the class identify and research the lives of entrepreneurs, then look for common interests and characteristics that helped them succeed.
Opportunity and Invention
Ask the class to select three inventions that have changed our personal, economic and political lives. Get students thinking about inventions they might create, by discussing problems "somebody" should solve.
