For families who have lost their homes to fires

BOISE, ID – (September 16, 2009)-- Boise Farmers Insurance Group of Companies® agents under the leadership of District Manager Mike Hansen will be participating in helping to raise funds for fire victims on Saturday, September 19, 2009 from Noon to 4:00 PM at the Old Timers Shelter in Ann Morrison Park. 

Established in 1964, by Boise Firefighters Local Union members, the Boise Burn Out Fund helps families if their home is destroyed by fire and victims are forced to leave their homes quickly, leaving behind all of their possessions.

 “Farmers Insurance is about helping customers and others in their greatest time of need.  Farmers agents from the Boise area are pleased that they will be able to help raise funds for families who need a place to sleep and necessities,” notes Hansen.  “The Burn Out Fund provides short term assistance to families and the organization donates cash to families so that they can get essential shelter, food and clothing.”

Lots of activities are planned for the day, including games and prizes for all ages; magic show, improvisation  show, a fire safety "house" available for children to play in as well as fire safety tips from real fire fighters and an old antique fire engine, and more.  There is no admission cost, however donations will be accepted for food and games.  All children will receive free giveaway items.
