Joplin, MO—(May 26, 2011)—Farmers Insurance agents, district managers, claims personnel and volunteers will load up more than 50,000 pounds of cooked foods and condiments this morning and deliver it all to Ignite and Impact Joplin churches, the triage hospital by the Memorial Building, emergency responders and anyone in need.
Paul Crosetti, Missouri Farmers State Executive Director, Deb Settle, Midwest Farmers Zone Senior Vice President and Stan Hayes, Director of Personal Lines Sales will join the effort to deliver the food throughout Joplin.
“We have over 50,000 pounds of pre-cooked chicken, 1,000 pounds of pork shoulder, rolls and rolls and buns that we will deliver,” explained Crosetti. We want to thank Sams Club and O.K. Foods of Arkansas for their wonderful donation of the meats.
“We have some terrific chefs who worked all night to get the food ready todeay,” noted Settle. “Thanks to Stan Hayes for coordinating the cooking which was done by BBQ Society of Kansas City, Director Carolyn Wells, and Kookers Kare of Kansas City, President Craig Kidwell.”
The food is being prepared at the Farmers Mobile Command Center (MCC) bus site at 6th and Range Line Road, Joplin. “Cars, trucks, and SUV’s will be pulling out of the site starting around 11 this morning for their destinations,” said Hayes. If anyone in need of food will let us know, we will be happy to send food there too,” he added.
