Two state-of-the-art mobile command centers now in Alabama; Farmers Insurance support vehicles providing aid to all-comers

Birmingham, AL (April 29, 2011) – Farmers Insurance has dispatched two specially-equipped Mobile Command Centers (MCC) to Alabama – one is in Birmingham, with the other in Tuscaloosa - to provide immediate, front-line assistance to customers and non-customers, alike, impacted by the catastrophic tornadoes that struck the state.

“Our hearts go out to all the families and loved ones who have been so terribly affected by these tornadoes,” stated Chris Simich, state executive director for Farmers in Alabama.  “With the arrival of a second Mobile Command Center, our capacity for providing even greater support to those impacted by this terrible event is greatly increased.  Whether you are a Farmers customer or not, anyone needing assistance is welcome.”

The 46-foot MCC buses are equipped with state-of-the-art satellite communications equipment, including satellite-linked cell phones and laptops, water, cold and hot drinks, and emergency supplies.  All persons in need of immediate assistance, be they Farmers customers or not, are welcome to avail themselves of the telecommunications equipment to contact family and friends and to advise worried loved-ones of their location and status.
