Tuscaloosa, AL (April 28, 2011) – The specially-equipped Farmers Insurance Mobile Command Center (MCC) has arrived in Tuscaloosa and has already begun providing front-line assistance to customers and non-customers, alike, impacted by the catastrophic tornadoes that struck Alabama.
“Our hearts go out to all the families and loved ones who have been so terribly affected by these tornadoes,” stated Chris Simich, state executive director for Farmers in Alabama. “Rest assured, we have all of the resources in place to help our customers. Our claims teams are giving 110 percent effort in finding and helping each of our customers. We are committed to reaching each customer as fast as possible and making sure they are being taken care of.”
Local residents needing assistance are encouraged to visit the Farmers MCC vehicle at:

The 46-foot MCC bus is equipped with state-of-the-art satellite communications equipment, including satellite-linked cell phones and laptops, water, cold and hot drinks, and emergency supplies. All persons in need of immediate assistance, including customers and non-customers, are welcome to avail themselves of the telecommunications equipment to contact family and friends and to advise worried loved-ones of their location and status.
