Houston, TX—(January 18, 2011)—Steven K. Andersen, Farmers Insurance® State Executive Director has been appointed Executive Director of the Farmers Houston Business Development Center.

With his tremendous experience as a huge plus, Steve is stepping up to lead our catastrophe mitigation efforts in the Houston Business Development Center.”
Mr. Andersen began his career with Farmers in September 1983 working out of the Pocatello Regional Office as a loss control specialist for the states of Idaho, Montana and Utah. From September 1984 to 1999, Mr. Andersen held a number of positions in commercial sales in three states; Idaho and Montana marketing and division agency management; and education management.
In August 1994, he transferred to the North Texas Regional Office as regional marketing manager. At the Texas State Office, in Austin, Mr. Andersen held the positions of marketing support manager, then division marketing manager in Houston, before he was promoted to Executive Director—State of Iowa, effective September 1999. He was assigned to his current position as State Executive Director for Ohio in April 2006.
Mr Andersen holds a Bachelor’s degree in business administration from Idaho State University. In addition, Mr. Andersen has earned a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC); Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), IIA Certificate in General Insurance.
A native of New York, Mr. Andersen is a member of the American Society of CLU and ChFC. He is Active in the March of Dimes; the National Association of Insurance & Financial Advisors, and GAMA.
