LOS ANGELES, CA-- (December 19, 2012) – “We are pleased to announce that Garrett Paddor will be joining Farmers New World Life (FNWL) as General Counsel,” noted FNWL President and CEO Jerry Carnahan.
“Garrett brings to his new position a wealth of knowledge about the law and we are excited about the impact he will make in his new position. He has experience in a wide variety of operations throughout the organization, and will be responsible for advising all operational departments in matters of regulatory compliance, project development and general business issues,” Carnahan said.
As General Counsel, Paddor will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal services, advice and direction, as well as supervising the staff of attorneys and paralegals.
Paddor began his career with Farmers in 1997 in the Corporate Legal Department in Los Angeles as Administrative Counsel. He was promoted to Corporate Counsel in 1999, Senior Corporate Counsel in 2002 and in 2008 he became Vice President—Property and Casualty, Legal.
From 2010 until recently, Paddor was on assignment in Zurich, Switzerland, working at Farmers Group, Inc.’s parent company, Zurich Financial Services.
He provided support to initiatives involving mergers and acquisitions, regulatory issues, and Global Life.
Paddor and his family will be relocating from the Los Angeles area to the Seattle area.
