Farmers Insurance donation to benefit many Kansas families in need
OLATHE, KS (December 16, 2008) – Farmers Insurance Group helped dozens of Kansas families with a large donation of kids items and warm clothes. Farmers employees in five large offices have collected every thing from children’s toys, clothes, coats and mittens to help ease the worry for many needy families.
Farmers employees collected truckloads of much needed items from December 7 until December 15, 2009. The items collected were donated December 14 and 15 to The Salvation Army adopt-a-family program and Safe Home, a women’s shelter in Johnson County.
“The numbers of families in need are astounding and heartbreaking,” said Kristen Comer, Communication Manager of Farmers HelpPoint, located in Olathe. “The hardship is great, especially during the cold days that are upon us. There are many children who have basic clothing needs as well as those who will be excited to get a toy or gift for the holiday season.”
