LOS ANGELES, CA – (November 2, 2010) – Farmers Insurance Group of Companies® wants you to be as prepared as possible for a catastrophe, whenever and wherever it strikes. To help families understand the importance of being prepared, Farmers Insurance has produced four videos for viewing: preparing for a hurricane, what to do when a tornado is approaching, how to prepare for wildfire and a general preparedness video addressing how to prepare your home and family for the unexpected.
“The videos are an excellent way to understand what you should do before, during and after a natural disaster,” explains Paul Quinn, Farmers Assistant Vice President of Claims Communications. “On the Farmers Web site at www.farmers.com, there is a Claims button at the top which will take you to our full claims pages. Here you will find, along with the catastrophe preparedness videos, four Farmers Claims executives who share their thoughts about the claims process. You will also find solid preparedness information on tornadoes, earthquakes, wind and hail storms, and the Red Cross. You will also find information on wildfires and how to help to make your home fire safe.”
Farmers also features on its claims pages, information about the Farmers Mobile Claims buses that are deployed immediately following a major disaster. The buses are 46 feet long and carry state-of-the-art satellite communications equipment to allow Farmers customers and non-customers alike, access to satellite telephones and laptops to call or write their friends and relatives. “The buses also are equipped with supplies and food for anyone in need,” Quinn said. “Farmers has a solid reputation of being among the first into a disaster area and the last to leave once all customers are contacted and the claims process is well underway for each of them.”
On the Farmers Web site you will also find information about HelpPoint® Claim Services by Farmers where customers can call in time of need, and facts on how to file a claim should you suffer damage from a catastrophe.
“Everyone is invited to visit the Farmers Claims page for helpful information to help you prepare for the unexpected,” Quinn concluded.
