It is with great pleasure that I share the recent announcement that Denise Ruggiero, as part of an international assignment, has been appointed Deputy Head of Government and Industry Affairs (GAIA), effective Jan. 1, 2012. Denise will relocate to Zurich, Switzerland and report to Peter Buomberger, Group Head of GAIA.
Denise joined Farmers in 2008 as Vice President of Regulatory Affairs, overseeing state-regulatory activity for the Farmers Exchanges as well as the legislative activity for Texas.
In 2010, Denise became Vice President, Policy, Research and Regulatory Counsel, continuing to oversee state-specific regulatory activity for the Farmers Exchanges as well as leading the newly created Research and Policy Development team on behalf of the Zurich and Farmers organizations.
Denise has been a vital member of our GAIA U.S. leadership team over the past three and a half years and this international assignment is a true credit to her leadership, industry knowledge and her numerous accomplishments over the years.
Because of Denise’s key role, we need to ensure an appropriate transition of her responsibilities. To this end, Regulatory Affairs (Farmers Exchanges only) will report up through Jeff Sauls, Vice President of State Legislative Affairs, while Research and Policy Development will report directly to me.
Again, I want to thank Denise for her leadership and significant contribution over the past three and half years. We look forward to working closely with her in her new assignment and wish her much success.
Should you have questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.
