RENO, NEV. – (September 29, 2009) – Farmers Insurance agents, employees and district managers will converge on Glen Duncan Elementary School on Wednesday, September 30 as part of a blitz to prepare every student for the upcoming winter. Farmers will present each of the 450 students with a winter jacket, gloves, hat and scarves as part of its adopt a school program.
“Farmers Insurance wants to make sure that no student goes cold as we approach the winter season here in northern Nevada,” said Reno-based Farmers Insurance agent John Barsanti . “By supplying the students at Glen Duncan Elementary with winter clothing, our hope is that students can better focus on the most important aspect of their young lives – getting an education.”
In addition, Farmers is giving each student a shirt with the team mascot to show school spirit.
Glen Duncan Elementary is considered an at-risk school and because of economic constraints, parents often have a difficult time providing basic essentials for their children.
Farmers will join school Principal Mike Paul Wednesday, September 30 at Noon for a presentation. The school is located at 1200 Montello St. Reno, NV. 89512.
As part of the festivities, Farmers will provide a BBQ lunch to all the students, parents, faculty and staff. The event will also showcase Farmers Insurance’s Customer Care Vehicle (CCV), which responds to disaster locations throughout Nevada.
