Seattle, WA (September 22, 2010) – Farmers Insurance will present a $10,000 check to the North Kitsap Little League on Tuesday, September 28 at 3:00 p.m. at the league’s home field at Snider Park, 22898 Viking Way NW in Poulsbo. North Kitsap Little League President Mike Driscoll and Mayor Becky Erickson of the City of Poulsbo will be on hand for the presentation.
“Farmers is proud to be able to support projects like this that provide opportunities for young people to stay physically fit and learn teamwork and sportsmanship,” said Stephen Brown, state executive director for Farmers in Washington. “The skills they learn on the field will stay with them throughout their lives.”
Joining the Farmers team on this project will be Matt Pitman, who covers the Seattle Seahawks for ESPN radio in Northwest Washington. Serving as the day’s emcee, Pitman and the ESPN radio team will be on hand to lend additional support to the baseball league.
The funds donated will be used to upgrade a number of infrastructure projects at Snider Field, including improvements to the bleachers, the dugouts, and the backstop.
In addition to the formal check presentation, local volunteers will be cooking up hot dogs for the attendees.
