BILLINGS, MT-- (June 21, 2010 ) – Fire season is moving into its peak months and due to the dry weather Farmers Insurance and the Montana FireSafe Council have declared June 21-27 as Fire Awareness week.
Jeff Robinson, Farmers Montana State Executive Director presented a $3,500 check to the Montana FireSafe Council from Farmers Insurance to help fund fire prevention projects conducted throughout the year.
“We are pleased to partner with the Montana FireSafe Council to bring awareness of the threat of wildfires to all citizens of Montana,” Robinson said. Farmers 150 agents and District Managers in Montana have fire prevention packets that are available at any Farmers agents’ office. The information in the packet includes a home inventory brochure, fire prevention tips for around the home and landscaping tips for planting fire retardant plans.”
Montana FireSafe Council Executive Director Wolcott added, "Farmers insurance support will enable us to make a difference in threatened communities throughout Montana. Their support and efforts from Farmers agents will help communities come together and reduce the threat of wildfire."
